Not another Stereo

Featured Replies

I am about to buy a new stereo, probably a Blaupunkt or a JVC as I want a DAB radio built in, are converting plugs available that can convert the standard wiring of the Fabia to the new head and where would I get them, or do I have to chop the plugs off and mess about crimping all the individual wires

The car manufacturer's loom is non-standard - the majority of aftermarket headunits will all use the same plugs...so you just need to make sure you get one suitable for the Fabia, and it will convert the layout used on the Fabia connectors to those used by aftermarket units.

I believe the Autoleads part number you'd need is PC2-69-4, which lists model suitability as "VW 10/98- 12V"...it works on the Octavia, would be very surprised if it's not the same for the Fabia. If you go to Halfords though, they have little books which parts you need for car models...

Oh, and don't forget that on the Fabia you'll need a fascia adapter too to go around the front of the new head unit. :)
