Hi All, got a problem that has me puzzled, any suggestions appreciated.

Car is 56 plate VRS, has factory MFD2 unit from new, worked as normal till last week.

Now unit will not come on when ignition is turned on or car started after being powered off, but comes on no problem manually from on/off/vol button.

I thought it might a fuse on the ignition power, but it does power off when ignition turned off and key removed.

Also if power removed, key taken out, car locked etc but only for a few minutes, long enough for Maxidot and interior lights etc to go out MFD2 will power up again when and ignition is switched on.

Haven't worked out exact timing yet, will try and work that out tomorrow, but i would guess upto 5 minutes of being powered off, everything works as it should, but if powered off for more than 5 minutes I have to manually switch it back on.

I haven't checked fuses as yet but I am not in work tomorrow, so going to look then.

Anyone got any ideas or seen this before?

In case any one else has a simular issue in the future I resolved this by removing power memory from the unit (pulled under bonnet fuse)

Same thing started happening to my MFD2. thanks for the tip, how long do you need to remove the fuse for?

Just to confirm, this did work fine. I'll know exactly what to do if it happens again.

Happened again, factory reset won't fix it now either!
