Hi I'm trying to sort the problem with my power steering I've read through a lot of stuff on the site already but most people that are having the same trouble as me (Flickering headlights alongside varying levels of assistance very little to far too much) are having the power steering light come on to tell them there's an issue.

Basically the pas light doesn't come on when I'm driving but I've also noticed it doesn't come on at start up when I put the key in the ignition.

So is the light supposed to come on when the other lights come on at start up? Or is it possible someone has taken the bulb out the light to sell me the car?

It should come on then go out when you turn the ignition on. Just like the airbag, TCS/ASR, Engine etc etc.

Sounds like the light isn't working if it doesn't come on at all.

Might be worth a fault code scan to see if there are any problems with the steering.
