High Revs

Hi all,

I own a Skoda Octavia 2000 Petrol, the problem I have is the car will suddenly take on very high revs automatically and no control over it part from turning the engine off, then sometimes a restart difficult, sometimes the accelerator pedal will snatch down also. A local mechanic replaced the single point unit (carb) and the problem is still the same, any ideas please, or know of any good mechanics in Donegal.
