Insurance...

Featured Replies

I enquired to the site approved insurer 'sky insurance'.

Im a company car driver at the Mo, looking to leave the scheme and buy a 1.2 tsi yeti elegance so i dropped sky an email with some details.

The reply i got was we do not insure BD Postcodes.

Jesus christ. I know Bradford is the arsehole of the UK but its not yet Beirut!

...how bad is that?

I wouldnt mind but the area i live bears little resemblence to Bradford in genersl. Also Settle isa BD postcode... does that count?

As a Leeds Loiner, who has also lived in Bradford, I can say that when I moved to the Bradford Branch of my insurance co employers I was surprised at the increased incidence in the city of theft and fraudulent claims, and whilst that was years ago now I see no evidence that things have got any better.

That said, if you live in a rural area but which has a Bradford postcode, I'd be inclined to ring them and explain that but if their stance remains unchanged, look elsewhere.

Good luck.

Hi, Thank you for the link its very helpful. I am amazed at the difference that just one street can make. In my town if i lived in the next street i would be two bands higher.
