  1. Thanks for the intel. I'll keep you posted. I don't know if it's pure coincidence but the 12v power socket doesn't work either.
  2. Cheers Pete, so 5J0971120HH would be compatible (just making sure). what was the difference - I'm assuming a couple more cm on the loom to stop it from stretching and failing? As it currently stands I've got the thick Brown wire and the thin blue/white wire snapped. A few more have cracks in the insulation
  3. Well done on tackling it @Hawkander. What loom did you go for in the end? I've got to do my wife's 11 plate Monte Carlo. It's been playing up for a while. The drivers window doesn't work and it won't operate any of the other 3 windows. The other 3 all work independently though. I tried to get DM Keith to get me a part number so I could buy the kit but they refused. A couple of months later I've eventually got round to taking the door card off to access the part number label and the only thing I could find was one that said 5J0120GP - a Google search didn't throw much light on it, either. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers
  4. GREAT summary @MartiniB. In a last minute dash before we go on holiday at the weekend, for my L&K on 19", I bought a 205/55 r16 from eBay. It is in decent knick with the foam insert and scissor jack. £45 picked up (1 hour away). I know the size difference is noticeable but I'll take it steady should I ever need it.
  5. Going on holiday soon and there's loads of official VAG skinnys on eBay. I'm hoping it won't need to be used very often, so I'm weighing up the benefits of buying one that I know will do the job so I can just put it to bed. Also thanks to @Carlston awesome post I can see that adding rims, tyres, jack and brace, will bring it in at double (if not triple) of a skinny. Although I have a flexi floor I don't want the carpet lifting, hence not having a 235/40 R19.
  6. Would a 125/70 R18 (spacesaver)be a disaster if used on a superb running 235/40 R19s?
  7. I've stumbled across this thread after searching for spare wheel options for my 66 plate 150 PS 2WD L&K estate. I fell foul of the goo and needed to be transported home the week before last. I'm searching my head about options that will fit in the wheel well without raising the boot floor. My wheels are 19" on 234/40 R19 tyres. I'd prefer a wider tyre (than a skinny space saver) so I'm assuming it'll need to be a 205 width wheel, but that combo of wheel size and tyre size will be best whilst still fitting in the well? Thanks in advance, I'm sending myself loopy looking at this.
  8. I took a long time to make friends with mine. It's a 66 plate L&K estate with every conceivable option (except heated steering wheel, wireless charging and spare wheel) - the lack of spare wheel really stung me last week. I've had a leak in the wheel well that took a couple of times to resolve. I've had the front sensors stop. They wanted to charge a fortune for recalibration but it rectified itself. I've had gremlins in the head unit. But I love the car.
  9. I've had this EXACT problem. First occurred the day I picked it up my 66 plate. The car was less than 2 years old at the time. It's happened another 3 or 4 times since. Each time it's happened seems to be during hot weather, so put it down to expansion of something. Pretty sure it wouldn't get done on warranty, however my local dealer is happy to pop it back in free of charge. It's a bit irritating but I'll keep this thread in mind for the next time it happens. Thanks for the info, peeps
  10. I do apologise... I was posting from my phone so presume I clicked on something without realising. Thanks for moving and thanks for that link. I'm coming from a Kuga with filaments to a superb with different tech made me somewhat sceptical. Thanks for all who contributed.
  11. Hi people. I've just taken ownership of a fully loaded L&K and the spec says it has heated windscreen. It has a button for the heated windscreen, which is operational ... My query is that I just can't see any element in the glass. I queried this with the dealer who claimed it was a different type of technology. I've been to a local main dealer who wasn't sure. Can anyone clear it up for me please (pun intended). Should the windscreen on a 66 plate L&K have a visible element in it? Thanks in advance.
  12. Anthony is a very nice chap. Dealt with him a couple of times over the last couple of weeks for issues with my wifes car. DM Keiths can never get anywhere near on new car prices though, when i say anywhere i mean serious cash not just a few hundred.
  13. Personally speaking (dont wish to offend, purely my taste) the wood interior in the Yeti is awful, some of the worst reproduction wood effect ive ever seen. Ive got plastic wood in my car at the moment and thats bad enough but the Yetis is 100 times worse. That being said, i tend to be a minimalist.
