VRs Owner

Featured Replies

Hi,

I thought I would introduce myself, I've recently bought an 06 Octavia VRs 2.0 TFSI.

This is my first non Ford, having owned:

Escort 1.4i LX

Ka 1.3

Ka Sport 1.6

Fiesta RS1800

Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S

Fiesta ST

Focus mk1 ST170

Focus mk2 ST 225

I'm used to Ford, was brought up around them so stuck with them. That was until I needed 5 doors, space for a double buggy, 2 child seats and also wanting to retain some poke.

After searching around I got a very good deal, straight £5k for 06 plate, extensive full service history with just under 70k on the clock. Seller needed a quick sale as he had a company car, owed nothing on the car and hence bargain price.

All I have done to the car so far is replace the 17" Zenith Alloy Wheels with some 18" Zenith Wheels + Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 tyres (which are great tyres might I add).

I had hoped to have the car remapped for some extra pulling power on the motorway, but having only ever had fords, I'm not au fait with the world of TFSI, so some more research is needed.

The only other thing to solve is what to do with my 17" wheels, does anyone know what I might be able to sell them for? They are in good condition, have Toyo Proxes on them (2 good, 2 need changing), OR should I keep them and save up for some winter tyres and use the 17" over the winter.

Anyway, hellloooooooo!

Cheers

JC

Hello JC and welcome along

I'd keep them for sticking some winter tyres on.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello and welcome.

welcome to briskoda

Actually forget what I said about keeping them, you're better off selling them and getting some 16s. 16" tyres will work better in the cold and be cheaper.

Pay a small, worthwhile, fee to become a freedom member and you can advertise in the for sale section on here

Could you have gone for the Ford Mondeo ST ??

But with a growing family, the running costs would be a hazard.
