Octy vRS Temperature Warning light

Featured Replies

Any one had problems with the little red temp warning light coming on?

It does not seem to matter what the outside temp is. If you read the hand book alarm bells should be ringing! Scarily the problem goes away if you turn off the ignition and then restart the engine.

It seems that this could have something to do with both the header tank and the sender unit attached to the header tank.

Had this problem for some time now, gather its quite a common problem hasn,t made a blind bit of difference to the car as you say i just turn it the ignition off then on again problem solved.

Usually down to the level sensor in the header tank I think, scum from the top of he coolant level builds up on the two prongs that drop down into the water. The scum stops the current going from one terminal to the other same as if the level drops) and the warning comes on.

Or could be the coolant temp sensor, both should be covered by warranty.
