Changing brake Drums for disks..

Featured Replies

thinking of doing it, but i dont have a clue where to start. i dont do any mad mad mad driving so im not really bothered re performance as long as they stop the car. although i believe its the fronts that do most of the work anyway. just want something that will look better than the drums :) any recommendations?

Just fit the ones from the back of a Fabia etc.

Should be a few sets kicking around from people who have done the 256mm conversion.

You need

Calipers

Carriers

heatshields

Handbrake cables (£4 each genuine, I got some and was very surprised)

Retaining clips for cables

Discs

Pads

Brake hoses

Done the conversion on my MK1 years ago, Fabia II is the same.

Is it relatively easy to carry out this conversion, wouldn't mind converting my Monte to rear disc brakes

It is pretty straight forward.

I'm fairly sure the bearings are the same so ABS shouldn't be effected.
