2001 1.4 16V alarm problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

My alarm occasionally goes off on its own. When I open it the alarm doesn't stop, when I fire it up it doesn't stop, when I drive the car it doesn't stop. Disconnecting the battery doesn't make it stop either. It has done it twice now since I got the car and is a little irritating.

If anyone could shed any light on this I would be very grateful. Thanks :)

Needs diagnosis, could be a faulty alarm siren but I'm betting a conv control unit fault, had a few do the same.

Ok, thank you!!

The alarms are a right PITA!!! My neighbours diesel Fabia kept setting mine off!! And mine was parked in a concrete garage!!!!

So I just removed the horn and insulated/taped up the wiring to the horn! No problems even 8yrs on! Just if you do a full scan of the module it reports no comms with horn.....but at least the rest of the alarm/imob system works!

Also those horns have their own built in back supply (two rechargable batteries soldered on to the PCB)
