Carplan Wonder Wheels

Featured Replies

Ok so just popped down to the local Asda looking for some Engine Oil as my mums smart car was running low. Came across Carplan Wonder Wheels one the same isle and was on offer at 2 bottles for £5. Knew my car was clean but the wheels were a mess so thought ill give it a go.

Got home and sprayed each wheel one at a time very generously. The bottle comes with a small brush in which you need to evenly spread the mixture around the wheel until it turns into a foam. As soon as i applied the solution it went from white to black. After you have sprayed and left for a little while you just simply rinse with water and all done! have to say i am very impressed, wheels look very shiny and requires minimal effort. will be honest as there are marks on my wheel steel however got a feeling it's not dirt :/ For the price have to say it was really good and the car now looks spic and spam.

Have been using the carplan triple wax shampoo on the car as well when cleaning and find it great! the colour of my car is silver and sparkles after every clean, even after days go by. Also was from Asda on offer at 2 for £5

Alloys ??

If so water it down it's harsh as hell and will kill alloys in no time at all

Wonder wheels is known for eating wheels, literally. Best wheel cleaner (by general concensus) is Bilberry wheel cleaner, personally I like using auto glym clean wheels.

Oh right lol! didn't know that! thought it was some powerfull stuff, soon as the solution went on the dirt flew off. I didn't leave it on for long and did water it down.

Wheels are very shinny. Don't wanna kill the alloys so will make sure i dilute the mixture

I use wonder wheels, but not for cleaning wheels.

I use it for removing the tarnish from the stainless exhausts on my bike.

It must be quite acidic as it smells something awful and brings them up clean in no time.

They do 2 different types acidic (nasty stuff) and non acidic (never seen this though) although the acidic stuff is good at getting the crap off the wheels it WILL eat into the alloys if there is any paint damage.

Would you use acid to wash your car? no? well wheels are painted just the same as the bodywork!!

Yeah, as above, avoid, as acidic. Use Bilberry myself and it's really good. Can use it neat if you have to, or dilute upto 10-1 (iirc) if not so much dirt on. Clean and seal the wheels with something, and that'll make them easier to clean in the future.

I use it, Water it down and only use it once every few months. Takes all Tar and grime off.

but I wouldn't use it every time

I use it very occaisionally to shift very stubbon dirt. Wash it off well, and don't use too often and it is fine.

I used to use it on my Engine block.. And it cleans it, proves how much Acid is in it.. Wouldn't go near my wheels with it..

+3 for Bilberry. I use it 1:1 with water, works a treat.

If there's stubborn bits, I use some old clay. That does the job without damaging wheels.

Auto smart g101 does the trick for me!!

Used some wonder wheels hot wheels on mine the other week. It's non acidic and very very good!
