can anyone tell me if the newer design rear clusters will work with cars fitted with the older type?

is the bulb setup the same? im assuming its just the cluster design that changed and and not the bulb holder too.!?!

I was wanting to put the newer style into mine too, I just think the rear lights look to low down when there lit up.

The new Rear Lamps utilise the same bulb holder as the older version, the new Rear Lamps are only an Outer Lens change and not any internal component changes........

Feel free to put the newer lamps on but the illumination of the Stop and Tail functions will still be in the same location as your current lamps......... :wonder:

Hi Both, I have done this to my Superb now that after market new style light clusters have started to appear on E-bay, you can get a pair for roughly the same price as a single original cluster and they look axactly the same, probably made in the same factory!, They are a straight swap, I have seen some after market stuff not fit exactly but these do and look like the real deal and finish the car brilliantly, the lamp set up is the same and you use the same lamp holder so it is just a 5 minute job to make your car look great! In my opinion well worth it.

So the new cluster looks like what I can describe as a C when lit up? Also when you swapped them over did you have to add any extra bulbs as when the orig lights are switched on only the bottom lights up, on the new style the top & sides light up so you must need extra bulbs?

Also what price are they & what name did you put into flea-bay to get your lights? I don't want some cheap rubbish that doesn't fit correct.

Hi Marcus, The C illumination isn't on the face lift Superb, its just the same light pattern as the original car so no extra lamps need adding, Also if you look at the cluters the red isn't in a C shape just across the top and bottom, I have seen a thread on here somewhere where the owner modified the lamp holder so that the top and bottom illumianted when the lights were turn on but this would just give you 2 strps of red not the C shape, I beleive the C shape started when the New Octavia was released and on subsiquent Skoda's, Hope this helps
