Ok so I've heard that after a certain build year the ecu will shout up that it's a chip tuned car when plugged into diagnostics. My friend told me he thought he had seen this on cupra.net. Is this true? If so remapped vrs's will flag it up if your getting warranty work done that requires plug in diagnostics

when mine was serviced, it was plugged into the electronic on-line system, it checks your map against the "current" map that should be on your car, and uploads the proper map...

if you are remapped, it will record this, and then remap the car back to standard on the latest map update....

only way around it I believe is be honest with your dealer , and ask them to leave the ECU alone!

mine was updated with the "misfire update" map at my last service... I requested it, and the service person explained it would be plugged in and automatically updated...

I was more worried about it crying out, "yes I'm a remapped car dont do any warranty work on me" lol

My dealer was also fine and just did the ECU update. Haven't heard any dealer actually complain or say they won't do the work.

Fortunately my dealer is quite interested in what I'm doing with the and will give me warranty unless I'm blowing turbos all the time.

Thing to remember people these dealers are effectively a buisness so will always try and do the work. Its only when skoda UK get involved they have to be wary.

as I've mentioned before, the Business Manager where I got mine from said the warranty side of his franchise absolutely depends on this income.

even if they go by the letter of the law, they can only void warrenty that was problems directly caused by the remap...

My dealer said 70-80% of their income is warranty work.

I might just forget spa box and if anything goes wrong get revo to flash back to standard then revo back foc
