I removed the engine cover to access the MAP sensor. Attached to the engine cover is the breather hose. When I detached it from the cover, I noted that it was very soft and gummy and could easily compress and not return to shape. So I got a new one. BUT...on examination of the old hose, I noted that there was the remains of a spring valve lodged in it. What is this valve? Is it the PCV valve? Where should it be?
