Dash displaying 'Check Deadlock'

Featured Replies

What does 'check deadlock - owners manual' refer too when I witch the ignition off ?

I've looked in the manual but can only find ref. to steering lock...

Don't worry about it mate, it's a "Skoda'ism", it's just warning you that when the car locks the deadlocks will be activated. on earlier car's the message was slightly different, and caused even more confusion :)

There are a couple of threads relating to it, but it's nothing to be concerned about.

Connected to the central locking - mine does it.

I have mine set to auto-lock and auto-unlock, and that message comes up when I turn engine off.

And thanks for posting the question in the first place, I collected the new Octavia yesterday and it has been puzzling me since I first saw the message. I did find a reference in the handbook but it confused me even further. This is only the fifth Octavia we have had and the first time I have seen such a confusing message.

I guessed the answer would be found in the Briskoda Forums, thanks.
