skoda fabia 2002 1.4 16v error p0401

Featured Replies

Hi guys exhaust control light came on so I brought a cheap scanner off ebay to find error code p0401egr insufficient flow. I've red number of post on here about cleaning egr valve and throttle body pipes. Would love do this myself but unsure wether to as they need to be aligned and don't ave the equip to do so is there any way of cleaning these parts without realigning. My engine code is AUB. Any help would be greatful thanks guys.

I'd expect that its just the throttle body's EGR pipe end that is choked with black stuff. So, if its exactly the same as the later BBY engined cars, its just a case of taking the aircleaner off, unbolt the throttle body and place it to the side without unplugging its lead, now lift off the interface plate that sits between the throttle body and the manifold, and clean this assembly, obviously you will need to remove the EGR pipe and the breather pipe at the interface plate end.

If you read the second post down it's pretty straight forward, tools wise a can of brake/clutch cleaner in aerosol form and a cloth or similar is all you need to do the cleaning.

cheers man!!

Run the car with Shell vpower fuel as you should as it requires 98ron petrol........and give it the full beans every so often on a 30mile trip....................then you don't have the problem........ :)
