Retrofitting electric driver seat with memory function

Featured Replies

Hello!!

I have 6 month old Octavia 2.0L 140 CR elegance (f/l). It comes with non electric driver and passenger seats with heating. Someone just mentioned that they could get me a used pre-fl octavia electric drivers seat with the memory buttons.

Could i fit this in my car?

Has anyone ever tried it?

Can a pre-fl octy drivers electric seat with memory buttons be retrofitted on a 2011 facelifted one?

A skoda mechanic here says it is possible and that he has the necessary wiring to make it work. But he made it sound too simple and i started to doubt if he knew what he was talking about.

Any sort of help would be appreciated!!

Anyone? ?

it probably is possible, would need to be wired into the CAN wiring and powered.

refreshing that you got a postive answer from the skoda mechanic. The normal response is that can't be done

IIRC, the 10-pin connectors to the seats are the same on the FL and pre-FL. If you have wires to pins 6,7,8 and 9 you don't need anything else.

Would it be possible to just change the baseplate with the electric buttons and motor ... Without cchnaging the full seat ? & still get it to work ?

I'd donate a testicle to have leccy seats!

The other one would go to facilitate folding mirrors :-)

Thanks, I'm trying to get the wiring diagram to see exactly where the wires go.Getting it powered wouldn't be a major issue. Connection to the CAN is the tricky part which probably enables the memory function to work.

Great. Relieved to know that a good pre-fl seat can be retrofitted on mine. Still unsure of where the wires need to go exactly.

Would be great if anyone could shed some light on the exact connections that needs to be made for 1) powering the electric seats and 2) for the seat memory function.

That's just b--locks! :p

Check for wires connected to pins 6,7,8,9. If these are already there, then the CAN is already at the connector.

Seems almost impossible. Wiring looks very complicated and the fact that i dont have the airbag in my seat adds to the complexity!

Looks like i have to make do with them manual ones!!
