Can someone explain to me why..........

With the lights switched off there is still a +ve current to the +ve terminal on the bulb connection?

With a voltmeter connected across the +ve & -ve on the H7 bulb connector it still swung round to 12V.

I'd have expected the light switch to cut any current to the bulb.

And no, parking light not on, that's another connection anyway.
