Has the mpg calculator been re calibrated since the remap? When i got my MkI remapped, the computer went from being 2% optimistic to 10% optimistic.

71MPG. I've never seen numbers that high for MPG on my dash.

1000 miles since last Tuesday? You get around :giggle:

nice 71.6 mpg , who remapped the car and what bhp and torque figures

I had car remapped for economy and smooth power, the tuner was Pendle Performance. My car was taken from 105bhp 177ft lb torque to 128bhp 219ft lb torque the gains could have been higher if i wanted as it was custom tuned but i just wanted a little more poke no smoke and higher mpg.The torque curve is very smooth and across a wide range. With the car having just 5spd and weighing 1190kg its reasonably brisk,if i wanted more power i would buy an Octy VRS Tdi.

When my car was remapped the tuner noticed that my turbo waste gate wasn't functioning as turbo over boosting,so he checked turbo using a vacuum pump and it was ok so it was the Turbo control valve.I ordered this and he fitted it 48hrs later and checked the live data and it was no longer over boosting this additional work cost me nothing, except the part.My brother wanted his 2006 VRS remapped but he wouldn't do it as the turbo was playing up the dyno graph looked like the alps.I would always use Pendle as they do a thorough diagnostics before remapping and if they are not happy with the car they wont remap it but will advise on best way to rectify problem.

Some tuners will remap and take your money without doing any diagnostics because they just want the cash regardless.

We offer tuning on all models, also each vehicle is totally custom tuned by myself on the rolling road with before and after print outs.

If your vehicle isn't listed please throw us details over and we can let you know the estimated power increase, and also different levels of tuning with do on your model.

I didn't think the 1.6 cr engines had been cracked yet to allow remaps?

I would be interested in getting my 105hp mc done, where are you based and what's the cost? I am getting 70+ mpg regularly and would primarily be looking for greater economy

At the moment there is no access to read and write the control units on the 1.6 engines, some companies are fitting advanced tuning boxes.

We are personally working along side Magic-Motorsports and are very pleased to say development is very close to being released and we are going to be one of the first in the UK to be offering tuning on these engines.

We have also invested heavily in technical data (damos file) on these control units.
