Hello.

My name's Richard, & I'm from Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

I've been lurking on this site for a while, but was waiting till we purchased one before joining.

Yesterday we bought an Octavia SE (1.6Tdi) Estate in 'Black Magic Pearl'

It wasn't a new one, but it is only 8 months old ('11 plate'), with about 8,000 miles showing.

We had a Fabia estate (1.4Mpi, in that 'metallic copper') a few years ago, which was an '03 plate' that we bought new from DM Keiths (Leeds branch), & I still maintain to anyone asking that it was the best small car I've ever driven.

The Octy's replaced a (much despised by me) Ford C-Max, of which the only feature that I liked was the LED tail-lights........ that's rather sad when the thing you liked most about a car was its back-lights (SWMBO did put 55,000+ miles on it in well under 2 years though!)

I'll admit we did entertain the thoughts of buying a Yeti, or a Superb estate (the 170BHP 4x4 would have been just right for me!)

So now, I'm just waiting for the first Fell-Race I can get to (after a lay-off due to a knee injury) to see how the ventilation system copes with sweaty/wet/stinking of mud bodies & clothing
