Steering Assistance

Got 3 or 4 things I want to activate via VCDS on my vRS. (Cruise, Anti-jack, Steering assistance, Change dash language).

I am borrowing a Ross-tech cable from a mate so I am collecting the codes I need to do this so all the research is done beforehand.

I went to the VCDS section and saw the downloadable code document which has given me all the info I need, however I seem to recall reading in the forums in the past conflicting info regarding the steering assistance.

On the downloadble document it states this:

Steering

44 – steering assist

07 - recode

Soft coding = 011x0 or 012x0

Replace x with a number from 1 – 9

2 = GTI

3 = Comfort

6 = Handicapped (very light)

However I recall reading that the vRS has 5 settings with 1 being most assisted and 5 being least assisted, where most cars are set to 2 as standard.

Can someone confirm which way is correct as I have tried a search and for the life of me I cant find this old post I recall.
