iPhone 4 to 'Bolero'

Featured Replies

With the title of this thread in mind, SWMBO called down at the main-dealer whilst in South Leeds this afternoon to enquire what solutions there were.

She (& I) really wanted to find something that will allow the 'touch-screen' ability of the 'Bolero' to function as a keypad for the phones, receiving/making calls

The chap in there offered her this as the solution; http://www.accessori...?p_no=5J0051473

But it looks like an after-thought, & having the holder permanantly in position seems to be saying "Please come & break into me for my Sat-Nav", so she doesn't want that one, as can be appreciated

Therefore a bit of searching earlier threw up this item;

I guess that it's a module of some kind that fits behind the head-unit?

Has anyone any experience of them, or can suggest something else that displays/operates in the same way, please.

If you search on here you'll find loads of threads on fitting Bluetooth modules that integrate with the bolero. I have a manual vrs with maxidot and fitted a vw 5k0 module. I have android rather than iPhone but it uses handsfree protocol not rasp so would work with both.

If you can't find any posts by me on the subject let me know and I'll find some..

Re the fiscon again search on here. Some have them and like them others have had issues. My vw unit cost less than that too....

Thankyou

She doesn't really want anything that stands out, for example the Parrot units that are attached to the radio surround, like this one; http://www.carcommun...3100_incar1.jpg

She very much likes the idea of the Fiscon' solulion, due to the display of incoming numbers

It sounds like she's going to;

1. Get in touch with the local main-dealer, regarding the unit that goes where the sunroof controls would be, & see how much it costs for them to fit it (or their sub-contractor?)

2. Try the local ICE specialist & see what they can offer; http://www.rammobile.com/

i've got one of these units (although from a different seller via ebay - www.carsystems.pl), fitted it myself and got the dealer to code it (which they kindly did for free).

Easy to fit, if you're happy to pull a few bits of trim off.

It's a great piece of kit and that fact there's nothing to see make it much better (in my opinion) than any other car kit i've had
