R32 steering rack, how much?

Featured Replies

How much would people expect to pay for a second hand decent condition R32 steering rack,

I know this is a upgrade compared to the standard racks and others in the range so maybe abit more

I still want one for mine. They seem to be somewhere around the 100 quid mark for a used one from the various ones I've missed out on!!

I paid £120 for mine in 2009 (off a 225 TT) so these days probably about £100 or less

Would the R32 rack fit a diesel?

It will with right track rod ends as they use differant hubs apparently

As far as I know TT (225 only?), Leon Cupra R and R32 are all similar.

A quick Ebay search and I found them from 90-150 quid or about 250 for a refurb one.

My problem is getting one delivered to NZ. It would need the ends removing to make the package smaller I think.

TT V6 (240bhp), R32, S3, Leon Cupra R and TT 1.8T Quattro (225bhp) are all the same racks (2.5 turns lock to lock)

VRS, Leon Cupra, Golf GTI, A3 1.8T, TT FWD (180bhp) are all 3 turns lock to lock

Haha, it'd be cheaper to buy a new one from the Audi dealer :) Though not as much fun for you.

Trying to work out whether to buy one, ship to my dad in Brid then get it collected by courier.

Anyone have approximate dimensions and weight of the box it would need so I can get quotes?

Try bullseye I only paid £184 plus exchange for mine and took just over an hour n a half to fit. Well worth it especially on country roads!!!
