Regarding the 1.9 TDI 150 bhp (ARL, BTB) engine

Featured Replies

The above mentioned engine:

110 kilowatts (150 PS; 148 bhp) @ 4,000 rpm; 320 newton metres (236 lbf·ft) @ 1,900 rpm — ARL, BTB

Ford Galaxy Mk1, SEAT León Mk1 (1M) (ARL: 09/00-12/05), SEAT Toledo Mk2 (ARL: 10/00-07/04), SEAT Alhambra (BTB: 06/05-05/07), Volkswagen Golf Mk4 (ARL: 09/00-05/06), VW Bora/Jetta Mk4 (ARL: 09/00-05/05), Volkswagen Sharan (BTB: 01/05-05/07)

Will this specific engines gearbox fit the Superb MK1? I know the turbo will fit the Superb perfectly and the difference from the 1.9 TDI 130 bhp and this 150bhp version would almost only be the turbo. Am i wrong?

I cant imagine the whole engine will actually fit the chassis of the Superb, I've checked it.

If anyone know please share your knowledge. I'm thinking about "upgrading" my Superb.

Thanks in advance.

The gearbox nor the turbo are suitable for the MK1 Superb as the engine is around the wrong way.

Hmm that sounds kinda weird to me, as my friend just fitted a turbo from a Volkswagen Golf Mk4 to his Superb MK1 and it works perfectly. Am i missing something?

I thought the manifold and turbo were separate on the Superb?

The gearbox is deffo a no go.

Yeah i can see now you are right about the gearbox for sure. Thanks a lot for that information. :-)

I just wonder now how the h... he managed to fit that turbo to his car...

You were right, the Turbo doesn't fit in either. The 6 speed gearbox from a 2004 VW Passat 3B fits perfectly, so that's what i'm getting. :-)

How will the six speed gearbox work with a 5-speed car? What else will you need to do?

Also, why don't you just get it remapped for the extra power?

My car is already remapped. The gearbox change is a clean change with no modifications necessary. :-)
