Rally For Heroes - Weston Super Mare - Sunday 6th May

Featured Replies

Guys,

Apologies for this being my first post, I've been using the forum a while, lurking but decided to register to help promote an event I'm taking part in in my 2010 Octavia vRS TDI.

Rally For Heroes is an event taking place in August this year to raise money for Help for Heroes & The Royal British Legion. It has stemmed from the Help For Heroes Roadtrip which took place in 2010 where approximately 30 cars and motorbikes drove from Elmpt in Germany to the Stelvio Pass & back again, taking in the Nurburgring and various other sites on route.

This year the event starts from the Top Gear track in Dunsfold and goes via Le Mans, Monaco, Stelvio Pass, Grossglockener Pass, Hockenhiem and The Nurburgring. In 2010 the aim was to drive 5 miles for every fallen serviceman, this year we will be doing the same, unfortunately this means we have to travel a lot further.

The Rally itself is now fully suscribed however we are hosting a mini rally over the May bank holiday weekend taking in Tedworth house in Tidworth & finishing up at Weston Super Mare on Sunday the 6th May where we will be spending the day set up on the lawns. There have been a few car clubs invited and I know one of the participants is touting the event on Pistonheads in the hope they will take a Sunday Service there. Ideally this is going to be a fairly decent sized event with a fair few of us taking over the lawns (there's at least 20 from R4H alone) and as many other car clubs as we can get interested. If anyone is interested in coming along and setting up a stand for briskoda you would be more than welcome. We are accepting car cluibs from 10am on the sunday. for more information please go to http://www.rallyforheroes.com or check out our facebook group http://www.facebook.com/RFH2012 for more information. I'm one of the Admins on the facebook group so you can reach me directly through there. If not go to the website and get in touch with the event organisers through there.
