Had "TheYetis" first service today,at 18,400 miles with 300 miles to go on the MFD.

On arriving home nicely washed and £148 lighter of wallet,I checked to see how many miles/days to the next service.

The MFD page just showed dashes in the miles to go and in the days to go spaces?

After much fruitless manual reading I tried resetting the service interval on the relevant MFD page.

The dashes have now been replaced by 9400miles or 374 days to the next service.

Is another dealer visit required to reset the service interval to variable again?.........

The dashes are normal for a Yeti with "on demand" servicing. Mine stayed that way for 2 days, presumably so it could work out what was happening. Sounds like you've "switched" yours to the other system.

I don't know whether you can re-set it.

Yes, if it was set to variable servicing when it left the garage, the yeti needs a certain amount of time/miles under it's belt to work out the distance/miles to the next variable service, that is why it was showing the dashes!! You have now set the car to yearly servicing.

That's what I was afraid of. :S

Oh well' I've got to go back anyway for a new heated seat element to be fitted under warranty.

They are factory set for variable servicing, I had mine changed to fixed yearly by the dealer owing to the high level of London urban driving I do, or should that be sitting in traffic jams and then moving at a average 12 mph to the next set of traffic lights.
