Fitting steering wheel - snapped bolt!

Featured Replies

All was going well when fitting the wheel but I overtightened a bolt and it snapped :-(

What's the best way to get this out? Drill it out? Bearing in mind I don't have access to the otherside of it:

Out of the three spring bolts, top right hand side.

It recessed so I can't get anything around it...

Ul av to drill a small hole n use a stud extractor probs only way

Small chisel or punch and try and tap it in the direction till it comes it, sorry if thats not clear its hard to explain without showing.

Doh !

Sorry to hear that, what a PITA.

I've had problems with stuff like severely welded in exhaust bolts (particulary on bikes where they collect crap) but what you have there my friend is a good lesson on the appropriate application of torque :)
