Expansion Bottle problem?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Had a look at a few Fabias over the weekend, there bottle lid on the expansion bottles clicked when got so tight, then had a little play to loosen or tighten.

Mine just keeps turning and turning until it won't go any more.

My water seems to be leaking out of my bottle, as put kitchen roll under then bottle, but only leaks under pressure eg 70mph on motorway.

Has been fine for a week when driving around town.

It was new bottle of eBay, so called genuine VAG one.

This is what I bought. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-ROOMSTER-RADIATOR-EXPANSION-OVERFLOW-HEADER-TANK-CAP-6Q0121407A-/170726467980?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c017298c#ht_698wt_1037

I doubt its the headgasket causing the leak, as Shark performance looked. Its leaking under the car, on drivers side, and only under pressure, as if its pushing the water past the seal on cap? Or bottle is broken.

Radiator, thermostat, waterpump have all been changed also.

Thanks.

They are only 12 quid from tps n thats a genuine bottle lol the bottles presurise themself so ive been told n that makes a hair line crack internaly
