Rear seats are out - how to protect loading floorplan?

Featured Replies

The VRS will now be used as a load lugger..and the seats are not going back in for the foreseeable future...

All items for loading will be boxed. However, some of these boxes will be mucky...

Does anyone know of a mat or anything which travels the whole way through the rear of the VRS?

I quite often see some old carpet cut to shape in the boot, easy and good protector...

Old sheet, carpet, underlay, curtains, cardboard sheet, use your imagination really. Any 'bespoke' product would be extortionate due to size/very low demand.

Carpet + industrial dust sheet ftw.

I made a plywood box with a high front to stop things flying forward and strips under to keep above seat mountings. Works well and can be lifted out for cleaning. Cut slots in sides to help lift out or to strap in fragiles.

I have a "pet blanket" bought from Aldi that has fixing straps which locate around the headrests forming a plastic hammock for a dog. It looks as if it would be very uncomfortable for a dog, but in "rubbish mode" spans the distance between the back of the front seats and the leading edge of the boot tray that I transferred from my previous vRS.
