Little tasks to do.. Bit of help please

Featured Replies

This weekend my mate and I are fitting an air inducter filter and a dump valve, any tips for making the jobs easier would be helpful.

Golf Gti turbo remapped by the way.

Thanks in advance.

Get the dump valve and put it in the bin, 1.8t needs a recirculating valve lol

He doesn't actually say which DV he has. It might be the right one haha!

They're fairly straight forward jobs. The induction kit is the only one that could cause you issues as some don't have brackets that hold properly. as stated though.... Which DV do you have? because it has to be the right one.

On this similar subject, is there a recirc DV that makes a decent bit of noise. . . . ? I'm still young on the inside.

the 008 from forge is meant to

If you fit a CAI you will get a reasonable tsshhh sound anyway. Or there is always the Forge Splitter valve. Personally i'd stick the the 007 or 008 Forge valves and the CAI as it seems to be the tried and tested method.

It's a twin piston one if that makes any sense!

I'm a newbie to all this stuff.

007p forge and induction kit gives more than enough tsch anyways trust me! Any more and you'd be driven bonkers!!

Compbrake recirculating here just as good as the forge at a fraction of the price, and with a ebay induction pipe sounds just right.

Cheers bud....... lol im still none the wiser :D is it like...... Louder or more shiny or cool looking

Or do i just leave the 007 alone :)

Difference between compbrake and 007 is at most £15-£20

To me i considered the compbrake but just went the extra and picked the forge quality

Compbrake one is just as well made, if it wasn't forge wouldn't of bothered to tell their dealers that they wern't allowed to advertise compbrake one lol. Got the email somewhere to prove it

not to put anyone off compbrake dv valve but when i went to order mine from compbrake i cant remember the full story to it but all i remember is that i think there was a delivery delay so i rang them up only to find that the batch they had got in all failed pressure testing so i got my money back which was a shame as i wanted a better dv valve but o well standard one seems ok atm with the neuspeed air intake

Least it shows they're not putting them out to market faulty and that they are testing their equipment.

I have a Compbrake and it is fine.

Does it return the air to the pipework or does it release it into the engine bay. Coz you need one that recirculates the air on the 1.8T

Any recirc valve (including the standard Bosch one) and a CAI. Or a Split-R.

Honestly you don't want that noise... it's fun for five minutes then you get everyone looking at you like it's some chav wagon. Went to a VAG meet at Brands Hatch last night there were hundreds of kids there hooning around just so everyone could hear their DV's... yes I know, it's got a turbo

It's splitter piston dump valve which a combination of vent to atmosphere and recirculation at the same time.

Or you can have either on full time.

I've had it set to full recirculating.

Is that the best to do?

Up to you, but if you have it fully recirculating you might as well stick it on ebay and just buy a fully recirculating valve instead.

They should work fine set half-and-half but a lot of people on here that do that have problems with them leaking boost, especially with the car remapped and running higher psi boost.

If its a 150bhp Golf remapped to 170-180ish though I can't imagine it's running enough boost to be a problem.

Thanks mate, prob go around half and half and see what happens.
