In need of cheering up.....

Featured Replies

:(

As some of you might know, two weeks ago last Wednesday I changed my 02 Octy RS for a 04 Octy RS. The new car only had 2900 miles on the clock, and had been garaged all the time, so there wasn't so much as a stone chip pn it.

Last Wednesday night (during apalling rain etc. it has to be said) my wonderful girlfriend reversed her bio-degrading Fiesta into the drivers door of my "new" pride and joy. I saw the whole thing happen, and to be fair, the bump was so slight, she probably didn't even know she had made contact. I bit my tongue and said nothing, because she knows how anal I am about my new car, and I knew she would feel terrible for having damaged it.

So why am I posting this thread? Well...... I guess I really want to scream

Thanks for listening.

:grouphug: Feeling any better now?

Not really.... but thanks anyway ;)

Oh dear, was there any damage tho?

I panic if another car parks near my Octy lol

It's never easy when a girlfriend or even a family member damages your car by mistake!

Personally I would have told her as she may do again to someone else and come unstuck!

Also imagen the amount of good will your get from her once she know

 Yes . You're quids in!

Bit more seriously hope it's not too bad.Someone cruel will be along shortly with the "it's only a car....."

It's only a car.

At least your girlfriend wasn't injured but if it was my wife she'd be in pain.

.

Spooky

Tell us if we are not helping :D

At least you say gf and not ex-gf ;)

I suspect you're probably glad that you didn't back into her "bio-degrading Fiesta" and have to fork out for a new car (or a roll of sticky tape) :D

Still, it's actually psychologically quite good, cos next time you park it in a public car park, you can say to yourself that "It's OK, it's damaged anyway". See? Gf did you a favour really :) and you're cheered up already, yes?

Tune in to Women's hour again tomorrow at the same time :sofahide:

Best

.....You would have thought so, wouldn't you???

Keeping my mouth shut was probably the worst thing I could have done, so it now seems.

After the impact (ahem!) I had given her my mobile to show her a funny text message that I had got from my brother, and after a few button presses, I noticed her smile turn rather frosty. I got the silent treatment, and after much coaxing, she started asking me why there were text messages from my previous girlfriend in my "archive" folder. She hadn't read them, but had seen the headers.

Truth: I didn't even know I had messages in an archive folder! When I checked the date, they were from June/ July 2004, long before my current gf & I started seeing each other. Not withstanding my explanation, I spent most of yesterday in the doghouse (figuratively speaking of course). I reckon one of two things have happened me over the last day or two:

1. I have already secured my very own lazyboy armchair in the next life

2. I have lost my marbles.... I should have shot my gf instantly

Any resident psychologists opinions would be welcome.... in need of some spiritual guidance, or a decent spliff.

:irked:  :eyecrazy:

:nervous:

Then again, it is Friday: Nice dinner? Weekend in Miami? Fix the car dent? The possibilities are endless.....

"I'm walking on sunshine, whey hey", methinks. You have a new car and a gf who cares enough about you to be jealous.

From accredited psychologist? - er - NOT definitely NOT. I know some people who are very laid-back about everything - they just take a deep breath....and look at what they have... :)

Happy weekend :)

It's at times like this that I tend to rely on the famous Jack Nicholson quote from "Terms of Endearment" (paraphrase cos I don't remember it exactly):

"One more minute and I'd have been clean away..." :D (Of course we women never listen exactly to what men say):rofl:

Apologies in advance Mo , but at times like these I tend to tend towards Jack Nicholson in "As good as it gets" - he is asked by the ditzy secretary in the publishers office, how does he capture womens characteristics so well in his books. He replies:

"I think like a man... then take away reason, and accountability."

Wasn't that Nina Simone  you got me thinkin now!

oh dear the old txt that you have never delete! I know that one too, she will come around for sure. The thing is us men are really lazy, I never delete txt messages until my box is full, so sometimes I have txt dating back for months.

At least she is jealous which means she likes you alot. So Mo's right again, damn it all! :D
