Headlight Washers, operation with sidelights trigger them?

Hi just a a quick question for those with headlight washers, do they go off when you have your sidelights on, (read> not the dipped beam)

Just noticed this and my last car had them only operate when I had the dipped beam on, not with the sidelights.

Seems like a waste of washer fluid when your sidelights dont exactly light up the road or provide enough light to cause glare with a dirty lens

This has been covered a few times before, some do, some don't.

Both my 2007 vRS and 2008 Scout wash the headlights with side lights.

Thats mental, why the F is there an option to have just your sidelights on, READ> the first indicator on the light stalk, no the second and last indicator.

No, sorry you have annoyed me with that post, why even post it if you cant answer my question, take it to the traffic cops if your so wound up tight about your idea sidelights are illegal.

Illegal? Really? I run sidelights all the time during the day, figured if it was illegal the car wouldn't have a setting on the switch for sidelights only!

Haven't noticed washers activate with sidelights only on my 08 Scout.

My 2.0TDi Elegance will fire the washers if I've got sidelights only on. Always seemed slightly odd to me.
