Radio unlock codes for radios without power for x hours

Featured Replies

I've just popped a Columbus in my car and want to get shot of the factory fitted Bolero. The problem is that I don't have the unlock code and Skoda want £37 for it!

Now, will the Bolero I removed from my car EVER ask for an unlock code if fitted back to my car? Will it retain it's knowledge for a few hours or is it keyed to the car? EG the wifes Ford radio wants a code as soon as the battery is disconnected and re connected.

If anyone knows that would be very handy.

from what iv read only skoda can give you the code ...you need to take it to the dealer so they can connect the car to "Skoda Online" as the code is stored in the ECU like i said the is just what i read but someone with better knowledge will probaly be along soon .....

or possible somewhere like Radio-code.co.uk

I believe that the code is stored in the car electronics not the stereo. Unplugging the stereo then putting it back later should be fine.
