Auto Dipping Mirrors Option/Warranty Option

Featured Replies

I see there is now an option for these on the online configurator for £50 I understand the Elegance now has folding mirrors as standard which is a bonus, does the mean that the drivers mirror doesn't dip any more and this adds the function back in for driver & passenger? These are not in the current brochure as an option?

Is the 5 year warranty for £640 worth it?

It depends which model and options in my opinion whether the extension in warranty is worth it. It is good that it is an extension of the manufacturer's warranty without compromise (includes parts and labour). If you are ordering an elegance model for instance with a few options, I think there is sufficient technology in there to warrant a warranty extension based on the likelihood of something going wrong, even it is small like a seat heater. Add on DSG and the cost of replacement, chances are the warranty will offer peace of mind. I also think that come resale, it will make selling a car with warranty a whole load easier than one without. If I was buying a base model with little technology, I wouldn't bother.

This is all down to personal choice and perhaps how much one can save off the rrp to fund the warranty.

£640 sounds a lot of cash up front when you already have 3 years warranty from new.

If I still had the car approaching 3 years ,and had something expensive that might go wrong e.g.DSG

An extended warranty with "Warranty Direct" might be a consideration .

I have looked at warranty direct,, go car warranty and warrantywise and neither offer an extended warranty for the Yeti. Maybe this will change in the future

As far as I am aware you never get a dipping driver's mirror. You only got the dipping passenger mirror as part of the electric seat pack. The mirror drops when you select reverse and comes back up when you go over 5mph (I think). So it stays dipped as you manoeuvre the car. This option is not about dimming mirrors (where it is only the driver's mirror that dims and you can't get that for the passenger mirror) it is about the glass dipping.
