Taken with my new Fuji S4240. mostly was in auto mode lol as I dont have a clue what I am doing so any tips would be really well received

Good effort mate... pic three is my fave

Colours look a but flat or muted, does the camera have a setting to liven them up a bit, possibly a "Vivid mode" or scenery mode

You might be able to set the camera manually so you can experiment with exposure settings ... generally slightly under exposing gives better results.

As with most photography it take practice so enjoy and take lots of pictures

Plenty of good sites on the internet and my favourite is "Kenrockwell.com"

Thanks mate, the GF loves that one too lol.  

they were taken on the auto mode with micro on, tried super micro but couldnt get close enought.  Ill have a play with it. there is alsorts of settings on it, just need to do some reasing and see whats what. cheers for the site mate.

I think the colours are bit cold, might be a white balance issue? As above, number three looks the best, from a contrast/exposure/framing point of view :)

Nice DOF first one a pity about the processing, it would help to play with the temp settings and contrast to bring out the colours more :happy:
