Yeti came 82nd out of 318!

Featured Replies

The good old Dacia Duster with 142,000 sales in 26th position!

Skoda have done pretty well in general really with the Octavia in 14th and the Fabia in 18th.

I have just returned from a three-week trip to the south of France and have seen many more Yetis than before (although still not a lot in absolute terms) in both France and the UK. My French neighbours always claim never to have seen a Yeti other than mine, but I saw three around Aix-en-Provence and four or five others on the journeys north and south. In the UK, driving to and from the Eurotunnel terminus, I saw about half a dozen. Of all the cars, four were black - which seems a strangely high proportion given what would appear to be the relative balance of colours bought by contributors to this forum. Incidentally, thanks to three return trips to Provence already, my 13 month-old SM now has almost 15,000 miles on the clock, and no problems to report so far. It had its first service just before we went to France: this was paid for out of the £250 compensation from Skoda UK following last year's (non) folding mirrors fiasco, but the garage told me they would have billed me £106, which seems very reasonable.

Not a bad result I'd say! Just over 55,000 sold in all of Europe during 2011 (a 21% increase on 2010):

Unfortunately one not sold to me! I ordered mine on 6 May 2011 and still no sign of it - not even a confirmed build date, so it is going to be over a year before I eventually receive it. Will this be a record of waiting time? I ordered through UK Car Discount. They say they are trying to find out where it is or even if it has been built... I am thinking of emailing Skoda uk direct - I have seen references to whom to contact - can someone remind me please... Thanks Peter

That is getting crazy!!

I would have thought that they were in Breach of Contract, so perhaps a stern letter to the MD is needed.

Have you done a search to check whether this type of "behavior" is typical of them?

If you need a Yeti fix, you know where I am!! :hi:

Was it gold plated?

Thanks Graham. I was going to say that I was not too bothered because the winter is over and I can wait - but at this precise moment we are under at least 4" of snow, and it is blowing a blizzard! :sun:

UK car Discounts have been very polite about it and say they have been onto Skoda uk, but so far no reply. That's why I wanted the email address of the head of Skoda uk, so I could contact him direct. I have seen his name mentioned, when someone has has problems before...

Hazelwood, Robert [[email protected]] - but you'll probably get a respose from Will Fisher.... Good Luck!

Thanks Merlinman - I tried to reply earlier, but could not login - snow on the satellite dish. I have emailed Robert Hazelwood, I'll post his reply...

Have been stuck in all day - snowed in! I did take the dog for a walk, and was passed by several cars, including 4x4's trying to get to Machynlleth over the mountain. None succeeded and past me again going down the hill - we are 1400' up and always get the snow! I think even the Yeti (if I had one) would struggle and with my 16" steel wheels and cold weather tyres fitted! They are still in my garage loft, packed away in the dark. :bandit:
