Bumper Trim.

Featured Replies

026.jpgI noticed a week or so after getting my Yeti the rear offside bumper trim was not fitting properly, has been annoying me so have booked it in at Alex Lawrie on Thursday of next week for them to have a look.

Hi, just checked mine and yes your's certainly looks like it has perhaps had a little 'nudge' from the rear! Hope you get it sorted okay as I know how these little things can play on your mind! :(

Cannot see any sign the bumper has been in any contact with anything.Certainly no scuff marks or anything like that.

They seem to be surprisingly scuff-resistant. Certainly mine survived a fair thump in a car park a week or two back with nary a mark.

[The story: I was about to reverse back out of my parking space when I noticed that another car was positioning itself to go into the space directly behind me in the next rank. I stopped to let them complete their maneuvre, then started reversing out again myself. I then realised that they were moving out of the space again, presumably in order to straighten up. I immediately stopped - but they kept on coming! I sat on my horn (quicker than trying to shift back in to first to get out of their way) but they didn't stop in time and gave me a fairly hefty thump that definitely moved the Yeti on its suspension. We both got out to have a look at the damage but there was none visible on either car. I took their registration anyway, but when I washed the Yeti later that day I still couldn't find any signs of the impact, and I've noticed nothing since.

I actually think this is good argument for not having body-coloured bumpers; I doubt a painted finish would have survived that incident unscathed.]

When I was in Lawries today they had one of the new Yeti Urbans in the showroom in Silver-looked quite smart.

I had my car in at Alex Lawries Skoda on 12-4-12 for them to have a look at my rear bumper.

Was given the car back in the same state-they said the bumper 'was deformed' possibly from contact with another car/bollard etc. They could not show me where the bumper had been hit.Basicaly they fobbed me off with sad excuses.

Took the back to Mitchells today(the dealer I purchased the car off).40 mins later the car was ready for me -a bumper retaining clip had been fitted incorrectly!

The bumper is now as it should be.

Well done Mitchells, when the car is due its first service guess where its going?.
