Decided to take out the

She goes in tomorrow to Progress Skoda in Letchworth for her 2nd service. I costed this and the 3rd service up and worked out that I should realistically save around £140 by taking up the offer of the next two services for £299. The offer also includes MOT and MOT protection (cover up to £750 if anything should need doing) for the third year. As my local dealer is no more, I'm hoping Progress Skoda of Letchworth prove capable! It gets serviced again in 12 months and includes long life oil on both services including a brake fluid change tomorrow. :-)

I've been using Progress for a little over four years now, bought my Octy vRS from their Bedford branch and switched to Letchworth three years ago(ish) when it opened. Good bunch of guys.

Got a promo letter from them last week for the £299 service deal, which I can't use on Kevin as I run him on variable regime but then the penny dropped and I realised I could use it on my wife's Roomster which I run on fixed and, being an 08 reg I get the benefit of inclusive MOTs.

Good luck.

That's good to hear - I've found the quality of service work at dealers very indifferent over the years so i always worry when I switch to a new one. :-)

Tell me about it; since the York dealers last changed hands, I've not been able to find a reliable service department in either the North or East Riding :S

offered this option, thought about it, service interval about 9 - 10k miles, so 18k as per variable seems to be less expensive to my thought pattern ie 205 cf 299? for 18k miles

A Skoda dealer in the SW England was caught out doing such an "offer" service the easy way (returned the car untouched, except for a handbook stamp) by a relative of mine. Hopefully an exception, rather than an "economy approach to servicing"...

Always worth checking the colour of the oil before driving it off the forecourt!

Ah I'm far worse than that. After years of having to deal with Ford dealers (including infact, yesterday morning before taking the Yeti for it's service) I actually put a small marker pen Mark on the main components that should be getting changed ie oil filter, air filter etc and I've even been known to ensure that all screws heads are 'aligned' if I can't get to the component. OCD? Possibly but I've had some bad experiences in the past. Yesterday morning, taking our TDCi fiesta for a service was a total (almost unbelievable) nightmare compared to how Progress Skoda performed with the myself and the Yeti in the afternoon. Credit to Progress Skoda in Letchworth for providing an excellent customer experience! I'll be using them in future. :-)

I'm getting the service "free" by taking out finance with Škoda for my Yeti; it sounds like a good enough deal; it was suggested by the dealer in Cambridge.

Is there a forum where Škoda owners discuss their experiences with different garages?
