Blown Turbo?

Featured Replies

Hi all.....i'm after some quick advice as I only have five days to fix my 2002 Octy TDI due to child commitments. Accellerating up the motorway slip road, my car suddenly made a funny noise (funny slurp noise), power dropped, limp mode activated. Cruising slowly in limp mode to get off m/way, car suddenly smoked to the point where i could not see behind. Oil light eventually came on but managed to stop. Is this a blown turbo or, if i have been correctly informed, has the oil feed to the turbo split? If the latter, can this be seen without having to remove engine parts?

Thanks all for any advice

if the smoke/fog was coming from the exhaust then its a blown turbo. the oil lamp coming on is bad, the turbo blowing will drop the oil pressure and starve the engine of oil not good, the cat plus exhaust will be full of oil and need changing aswell. good luck
