MPG etc: Interesting German site

Featured Replies

Apologies in advance if this is already common knowledge, but when "researching" the Octavia prior to purchase, I stumbled on this site:

You can filter results by make / model / engine power etc.

More data than Honest John.........

John (no relative)

NB MPG = 280 / (l/100km)

Interesting site and data.

Two observations.

  1. That the petrol cars of the same power as diesel in the same car seem to use about 15% more fuel. Perhaps a closer gap that many might have thought.? (and petrols are quicker accelerating for the same power as we know acording to Audi, SEAT, Skoda, VW and press)
  2. The fuel consumption figures are not as good as the manufacturing figures. If you lived in a country without speed limits might your fuel consumption be not so good, especially if you have a VRS capable of over 150 mph?

Useful database and also shows what a wide variety of figures there are for the same car due to driving style, location, journeys??

Use it already, see my Sig.

Well for the last 2500 miles the computer in mine says average of 42mpg....despite what everyone states on here about the fuel computer being "over generous" my weekly commute fill of 18 litres or 4 gallons gives me 160 miles so 40mpg....

I have used this site for 3 or 4 years
