4 : im planning on asking mk2 vrs owners and fabia vrs owners at castle coombe to try the octy mk1 oil cap ( so next sat will have 100% proof - if not done before , but this leaves abit late so be sure to peek )

5 : Both coolant and oil caps are available on thier own for £20 fully packed and posted ( again recorded )

yea the caps are the same. Fabia boys will know what I meant with the extra bit to bring the cap up to the height of the engine cover.

its 1 auidis came back to scott which is odd when loads of auidi n vw use them... i want to double check for your mk2 folk tho

Evening all,

I had a conversation with 2 A4 B7 owners this afternoon and during the cinema.

It turns out that their 2.0T FSI engine oil caps are a little bit sunken/flush with their rocker cover.

The R8 caps, which they all ready fitted with out any issues made us think these would be ok.

But it turns out that the issue people was having with the R8 caps is what made the R8 cap fit on theses engines.

The hight of the R8 cap.

Chatting to my mate he said the Porsche cap is about 1mm or so away from fitting. when he was trying to fit his he got oil on the rubber, so its very close and he said to get it to fit all you'd need to do it trim down the rocker cover or tapper the edge of the Porsche cap. His words [worse welsh accent]"bit of 100 grit will get that porsche cap fitting in there"[/worse welsh accent].

After a bit more research and chatting, it turns out that any one/engine with a flush (I assume thats the correct wording of it) oil cap to their rocker cover will have this issue but if you're willing to take your time and mod the cap it will fit.

I sent Lloyd two caps (Oil & Coolant) on saturday for him to show and test out at combe. so if you're going and want to test them out, have a chat to Lloyd.

40 of theses caps (80 in total. Thats 40 oil and 40 coolant) has been sent out to the A4, A3 and TT lads and this is the only issue that's come about.

Allot less than the R8 caps.

I hope this is ok for everyone and I'm really really sorry.

I know Lloyd has put allot of effort checking the fitment of these caps (I know he's been in contact enough lol) and I've been trying to get these fitted to as many VAG cars as possible for the Audi boys to avoid this for of issue and wasting people's time.

As before, I'm sorry but if you have any questions please ask and we'll do our best to answer.

I think Lloyd is going to bug his local skoda dealer with a hand full of caps to get testing for you guys. lol

I just googled A4 B7 engine and this is what came up:

If this is what they look like then that is nothing like the mk2 octy 2.0 tfsi.

Does this mean that the caps should be fine with the Mk2 Octy VRS?

I phoned my mate at Skoda and he said the pre facelift and post facelift Mk2 engine cover set up is pretty much the same so should be good for all Mk2's

THIS CAP DOESNT SEEM TO

SWAP FOR THE PORSCHE CAP OUT THE BOX

It goes in but it doesnt lock into place ?????

I dont know if it can be fiddled with but i want mk2 folk to know before ordering

Looking at them they seem the same apart from different size lugs i think

ive just ran out in the street after my neighbours son lol

it was a 06c 103 485P cap

the result was

it fitted and clicked in place but offset
