i was just wondering if i could meet up with anybody who has a smf fitted to there fabia vrs to listen to the chatter, as a noise has been apparent since i bought the car i do not know if the previous owner had one fitted

May have better luck trying to meet someone who has a DMF and see if you have the same noise? Alternatively have a look on auto trader and see who's got a VRS locally, dealers will be happy to do a test drive which should be more than enough to let you work out if your noise is non standard.

+1, plus not all SMF are the same. The ligher they are the noisier they are.

cheers for the replies guys, turnes out its my dmf making the noise , master audi tech told me to leave it, it will get gradually worse but could take more than a year before it needed changing.
