Skoda Fabia Autoscan (VagCom)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a light illuminating on my clocks and i'm not sure what it is. It is a steering wheel with an exclamation mark. So I plugged my Fabia into VagCom and done an autoscan. Here are the results:

How new is the battery?

How new is the battery?

Couldn't tell you exactly how old it is as it isn't my car, was only purchased a few months ago. I'll ask and have her test a different battery in it.

The car would start before it was plugged into vag com. I done the first full scan:

01314 - Engine Control Module

49-00 - No Communications

These errors never showed up the first time. The second scan the car went weird and brung up them error codes. I then tried to start the car and it wouldn't fire, I removed the key and put it back in and it started first time. So I think: 01314 - Engine Control Module

49-00 - No Communications

Isn't a major concern.

The concerns for the car is;

New oxygen sensors?

01290 - Reference Voltage: Steering Assist

29-00 - Short to Ground

Thanks for replying.

Anyone?

As far as im aware its a power steering fault, by the scan it looks to be something about it as well

"Address 44: Steering Assist

by the looks of it your steering assist is just a little low on voltage from the results on vagcom, i thought it might have been something to do with the engine immobiliser as that came up as a fault on vagcom but that lights a car silhouette with a key inside.

To be honest im just guessing but im pretty sure its something to do with the power steering, if you have an owners manual it explains all the dash lights in that, if not il have a look in mine tomorrow and get back to you.

I am new to this game and still finding my way with VCDS but had a very similar set of results, all of which cleared with a fully charged battery. Charge it up, reset the fault codes and have a careful drive in case steering assistance is reduced and then rescan it. See what codes have returned if any.

Was it the same error code?

Have you tried clearing all the codes, and seeing what comes back. Voltage issues could be historical and might not come back. Is the P.A.S working at all?

Nope I never thought at the time to just clear the codes and see what comes back. The PAS fully works.
