Who had the stereo that stopped working after a retro fit and then righted itself?

Featured Replies

Folks I think I am going nuts, but I swear I read a thread written about a Columbus (or Bolero) that went blank after a retrofit, the cause of which was to do with the unit being connected in a particular order.

Does that ring any bells with anyone? I'm trying to find a possible solution to the problem with my dad's Bolero as I am not yet convinced the installer bricked it.

Mine did that - to a degree. There's a thread about it here somewhere.

Wasn't to do with it being connected in a certain order though - more like a dodgy software update. Amazingly the eBay seller I bought it off sent me a replacement (which also managed to die on me just out of the blue, but a re-flash sorted it out and it's still going strong in Matt's Octy).

There was another thread Timmy, I remember reading (in the last week to ten days) a post where somebody had bought a retrofit, connected it up to find the headunit didn't work, but turned out to be the order in which the stuff had been connected. Can't bloomin find it now.

Small edit to the title as I am not sure it was a Columbus, but I definitely read through a thread where somebody had bought a retrofit, either a bluetooth or an MDI, wired it up and then had to disconnected and wire together in a different order to make it work. I've looked bloody everywhere, checked my history and am convinced I am going mental.
