Cai no air flow?

Featured Replies

Upon installing my fmic today it became apparent the cai location behind passenger bumper is wholly inadequate when it comes to air flow....

What options do i have drill holes in bumper vent to match drivers side?

Run a hose round from centre vent?

Replace vents with aftermarket?

And please no wise cracks about putting it back to oem

im buying these in the week purley coz bowders silver vrs looks the tits with them. I dont run a CIA that goes behind the bumper as i like driving in the rain and down want to kill my engine if i have to go through a puddle, but id say these are your best bet mate.

either that or milotec side mesh grills (way over priced for what they are) or like me run a pipe from the center grill.

I drilled holes in my grill and put air feed behind them

Mine gets lots of air to it, even with the std grills.

even with the milotec grills I had no trouble at all with rain and water, only thing is making sure you keep the filter clean.

If you dont wanna get the front grills just drill some neet holes in the std one but TBH you dont really need it. the small turbo cant take in enough to bother plus if you have the std TIP too then the CAI is pointless too apart from sound.(which is gooooood lol)

Complete overkill. As Billy has said, drill the standard n/s cut-out. Job done. You won't need to do anymore. Anything else will be purely cosmetic.

Puddles are a myth.... Its brother numpsys driving through canals lol!

To me it looks as if i has no air flow what so ever....

Ill drill standard one then and maybe put an arch vent in :)

I dont think its hugely a big issue as long as the 'ambient' temperature is OK. The engine will take in what it needs by itself, not like you need to force feed it.

you need 1 of these jase above ya FMIC.... wide mouth bumper you will be well away! lol

Oooo oooo lol

where do you think the std setup gets its air from lol

it is from in the wing itself and there is no reall holes to get there neiter, dont forget that there is lots of space down in the bumper and it comes round fromt the middle vent anyway.

a few holes drilled in the front slats and some in the arch liner will allow slight air movement?
