Charge Pressure Contr. Positive Deviation

Posted a thread about my turbo problem.

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t25188-19-tdi-turbo-problems.html

Just VAG-ed my car and i am getting the following error

17965-Charge Pressure Contr. Positive Deviation

I cleared the error and drove the car and the turbo kicked in perfectly until i got to about 50mph and the turbo died and the fault reappeared

Does anyone know what this error means??

Cheers

Dave

From the description, it sounds like the turbo control is faulty, its not able to stop it from over pressure. Sounds like a sticking wastegate or sticking WCS (wastegate control solenoid), or possibly a bunged up vacuum pipe to one of these...

Once this condition is detected, it kicks in limp-home mode

Thanks skodakid,

where exactly is the wastegate and sticking WCS, would it have something to do with the VNT actuator??
