Featured Replies

yes this is the strangest problem ever me locking my car disables the wireless lan on my netgear dg834g !!!! we were wondering why it allways worked fine when i was out but as soon as i got home and opened the front door it went off !!!

anyone else have this ???

I've had similar but it was only when the microwave was on. Maybe your car emits microwave radiation harming those all around

When I get home and use the keyfob to lock my car ........................the doorbell rings

Well, I've just been around my house with various appliances on, and I can honestly say my remote central locking fob doesn't affect any of them. :D

Not to worry, the car opens when a specific code is transmitted at that frequency, otherwise you'd be unlocking all the cars in the car park each time you went shopping! The reason the car key remote may interfere with household devices is that they are usually unsophisticated and simply "listen" for a pulse at that frequency :)

Hehe try playing GT4 with a cordless controller and operating the central locking on your key fob :D

All this happens because the 2.4 ghz frequency is seriously overused by most cordless equipment (including wireless lans)
