Octavia VRS II Clutch

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I was going to post this in the tech section, but i cant post in there as im a newbie (well not really just havent posted).

Im in the process of looking at getting a Emotion box from Celtic Tuning, however im concerned as to what the max amount of power you can put through the standard VRS clutch, as i have a feeling it will kill it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Martin

Petrol or Diesel?

Petrol will cope with around 300lb/ft as long as you use the gears and don't drive using a high gear and low revs to accelerate.

I had 2 OEM Clutches before getting a Sachs Clutch because i didn't realise that accelerating from 50mph up to a 100mph cruise (I was living in Germany at the time) would wear out the clutch so quickly.

Sorry should have said. Its the petrol version

Emotion says it'll go to roughly 265bhp and 281lbft of torque.

Stage 1 won't be that high, more likely 240-250. Standard clutch will be fine until you go stage 2.

What's an Emotion Box?

I thought Stage 1 remap on a tfsi you're looking at 230bhp to 235bhp whereas it's nearer 250bhp to 260bhp on a tsi?
