Does anyone know how to suppress backup exec asking to remove a tape after a backup? its not classing the job as finished until ok is pressed.. it doesnt make a difference if the tape ejects itself or not

Which version?

Go to the Job properties - advanced , and look for the "eject media after job completes" tick box.

Thats on 8.6 and (I think) 9.

Doesn't it give you an option not to automatically display further alerts when you get an alert up on the screen , or is it sending out notifications to tell you to remove the tape?

Are you sure that it hasn't reached the capacity of a tape and is asking for a second one to complete the backup?
