Anyone got a casette stereo loom/ pin diagram?

Featured Replies

Just trying to swap my OEM stereo for another I have lying around which I know had better sound and is more able to drive my new Vibe speakers n tweeters ;)

But, I have no idea which wires are which, tried a halfords adapter to save cutting wires but that didn't fit any way.

Also with this I may need to fit the cross overs that came with the vibes as I assume the OEM stereo had them built in to seperate the tweeters from the door speakers. But again I have no idea where to fit them as the are the size of speakers themselves and don't really want them on show, although the do look quite cool. any suggestions guys?

I seem to remember the Haynes book of lies has a wiring diagram in the back for the stereo H/U and tweeters and speakers which will give you the wire colours. How accurate it is would be another question!

They should be standard ISO connectors on the back of the HU.

Note the final paragraph

Take special care when installing into ’98 or later VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat models as there may be a 12 V connection on Pin A5, which could damage the car stereo or into Ford from ’97 or later, with an ISO connector, on which damage to the car’s microcomputers is possible if misconnected.

Cheers for that just what I was looking for, but nowt came up in the search. Some interesting outputs in there. Reverse light signal in absence of sat nav loosing a signal . eh? WTF?

I wonder why I can never get an aftermarket stereo that plugs and plays to that ISO set up. It only seems to be OEM stuff that's set up that way or am I misinformed. The stereo I'm looking at fitting only has one connection block. And two audio outs and is fairly recent.
